Job Summary

Conduct routine office inquiries from employees and students while assisting the Office of International Experiences with clerical support, background research, and special projects. Manage day-to-day department maintenance by handling phone calls, filing, scheduling, and organizing records. Maintain a regular on-campus attendance schedule that does not conflict with your class hours, submitting biweekly timesheets and completing required training. Some evening and weekend work may be required. This role supports the department's mission to facilitate international student experiences at Texas A&M International University.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates
  • Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students
  • Meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU's Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP)
  • On campus, face-to-face interactions
  • Maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace
  • Promptly complete all required training
  • Submit time sheet biweekly
  • Some evening and weekend work
  • Subject to funding and/or need
  • All positions are security-sensitive
  • Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation
  • Employment is contingent upon the institution's verification of credentials and/or other information required by the institution's procedures
  • Completion of the criminal history check
  • Undergraduate student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester of college-level courses or accepted remedial courses
  • International undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours to meet the federal immigration guidelines
  • Undergraduate student must maintain a 2.0 TAMIU overall GPA
  • Graduate students must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours per semester
  • International graduate students must enroll 9 semester credit hours in order to meet the federal immigration guidelines
  • Graduate student must maintain a 3.0 TAMIU overall GPA
  • Students who will be graduating may enroll for less than half time for their final semester
  • Must submit proof of graduation

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience designing content for promotional purposes for social media (Facebook, Instagram and twitter), flyers and presentations using software programs such as Spark, CANVA, photoshop, Prezi etc
  • Proficiency in use of personal computer workstation with common software applications
  • Ability to organize and multitask functions to ensure compliance with deadlines
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn and use multiple software programs
