Job Summary
Provide proactive outreach to TRiO program students to address individual learning needs and increase achievement toward a baccalaureate degree. Monitor weekly student progress, understand college procedures and policies, and collaborate with university staff to develop intentional academic pathways and career exploration resources. Assist students in cultivating good study habits while promoting academic pathways that connect skill development to career opportunities. Maintain a regular on-campus attendance schedule that does not conflict with class time and promptly complete all required training. Submit biweekly time sheets.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates
- Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students
- Meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU's Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP)
- Proficiency in use of personal computer workstation with common software applications
- Ability to organize and multitask functions to ensure compliance with deadlines
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills
- Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn and use multiple software programs
- On campus, face-to-face interactions
- Maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace
- Work schedules created by the department based on departmental needs but ensure it does not conflict with class schedule
- Promptly complete all required training
- Submit time sheet biweekly
- Subject to funding and/or need
