Job Summary
Assist the Service Manager and technicians in the efficient operation of the department by cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the shop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment. Support service technicians with repairing, servicing, moving equipment, and delivering parts while performing basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment. Document diagnostics and repairs thoroughly on work orders and submit information on time. Participate in required Service EDUCATE Training programs to develop skills and maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products. This part-time role offers on-the-job experience while attending an outside program, with opportunities for advancement within the Northeast John Deere dealership network.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working cooperatively in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Physical stamina in the handling of complex tools and heavy equipment and moving through confined spaces
- Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone
- Close vision requirements
- Hearing ability is sufficient to communicate with others in person or over the phone
- Light to moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, and bend as needed
