Job Summary
Plan and deliver instruction aligned with district goals, curriculum benchmarks, and student maturity levels. Practice creating an inclusive classroom environment while observing effective management strategies from a mentor teacher. Develop professional relationships with students, parents, and staff under the guidance of a university supervisor. Complete required clinical practice for state-approved Missouri educator preparation programs. Successful completion of a background check is mandatory for placement. This internship provides a realistic foundation for a successful teaching career within Grain Valley Schools.
Required Qualifications
- Active enrollment in a state-approved Missouri educator preparation program (or an approved program in a reciprocal state)
- Meeting all university and program requirements to begin the student teaching/clinical practice semester
- Strong work ethic
- Passion for education
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Basic knowledge of child development
- Knowledge of instructional strategies appropriate for the grade level
- Successful completion of a background check required for placement in Missouri schools
