Job Summary
Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and operate classroom equipment; assists in implementing behavioral modification programs, maintains behavioral logs, supervises during drills and field trips, and provides mobility and personal care support. Leads classroom assistance with lunch, snack, wash-ups, diapering/tooth brushing, and prepares students for activities; supports in transportation routines and daily routines. Strong written and verbal communication skills and teamwork are essential; bilingual Spanish applicants encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or higher; OR Completing at least two years, or 48 credit hours of study at an institution of higher education; OR taking and passing a formal assessment measuring one’s knowledge of and ability to assist classroom teachers in reading, writing, and mathematics. - Training or experience working with Special Needs Students preferred
