Job Summary
The role focuses on supporting students with disability, accessibility, inclusion and learning equity to ensure equitable access to education and services. Responsibilities include assessing student support needs, coordinating reasonable adjustments, implementing tailored support plans, collaborating with students, academic staff and support teams, promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment, and providing education to staff on disability and learning equity needs. The position requires a relevant diploma or equivalent and knowledge of disability support practices and legislation, along with strong interpersonal, communication, confidentiality, and organizational skills. Location is the Mirrabooka Campus in West Perth, WA, Australia, with in-person work expected.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a relevant diploma or equivalent
- Experience providing advice to students, particularly in relation to accessibility, inclusion or wellbeing support
- Understanding of higher education disability support, reasonable adjustments, and inclusive learning practices
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Disability Discrimination Act or Disability Standards for Education
- Ability to manage, record, and monitor student support processes in compliance with data protection policies
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with high levels of empathy and effective conflict resolution
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
