Job Summary
Act as a first responder for student crises, assisting with de-escalation, re-entry into the classroom, and implementing Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies including physical restraint procedures. Collaborate with administration to create, monitor, and assess discipline policies while facilitating intervention plans and maintaining accurate records on academic, attendance, and behavioral data. Serve as a liaison between students, families, and school personnel to communicate progress toward behavioral and academic goals, providing supervision and alternative activities for students removed from the classroom. Monitor students during unscheduled times, lunch, and after-school events, promoting involvement in extracurricular activities. Work a flexible schedule to attend evening events and support the district's multi-tiered system of supports for both behavior and academics.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students
- Ability to work effectively in teams
- Positive interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in technology skills necessary to complete job duties
- Experience in working with at-risk population
- Willingness to support and implement Davenport's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for both behavior and academics
- Good attendance
