Student Support Counselor

Job Summary
Conduct student-centered support services as the single point of access for students, administering advising services including registration, evaluation of program requirements, and Satisfactory Academic Progress. Call or meet with students throughout the term to ensure successful coursework completion, responding daily to inquiries regarding policies, course content, and available resources. Maintain accurate academic records by processing forms such as Add/Drop, Withdrawal, and Leave of Absence, while advising at-risk students on work/life balance and time management. Collaborate with departments including Academics, Financial Aid, and the Registrar to promote student persistence and achievement, adhering to all internal, federal, and Department of Education policies. Work hybrid hours on ground campuses in Anaheim, Chicago, Dallas, DC, or Los Angeles, with occasional evening and weekend availability required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings
- Excellent PC skills (Word, Excel, Power Point) and other clerical skills (phone skills, typing, filing)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with all students regardless of educational level as well as all employees regardless of position, title, or location
- Excellent team work

- Experience within student facing positions and/or higher education
