Job Summary

Create a therapeutic environment for students by modeling coping strategies, classroom conduct, and safe behaviors. Support student stability and safety by identifying antecedents, using positive behavioral interventions, and implementing behavior support ranging from verbal prompts to physical restraint when necessary. Assist teachers with instruction, tutoring, and engagement while presenting data during staff, IEP, and clinical meetings. Complete required documentation, including incident reports, behavior notes, and PBIS or IEP paperwork. Serve as a substitute teacher to deliver curriculum lessons using appropriate strategies. Engage in active communication with students, stakeholders, and the administration regarding progress and issues.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • must have two years of work experience with children
  • completed two years of coursework in a related field
