Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School live on campus housing to supervise and guide 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and development activities. Responsibilities include managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role starts with a nine-on, three-off schedule and transitions to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include a salary of $46,917 per person (approx. $180,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive health benefits, relocation assistance and paid training, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two years of marriage required for both spouses
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Strong integrity and professionalism
- Willingness to reside in on-campus homes with students
- Two-person role for couples
