Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and care for a group of about 8–13 students in a family-like home. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role starts in nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a single student home. Qualifications include experience with youth, a high school diploma or GED, and a two-person, legally married partnership with both spouses aged 27+, plus a valid U.S. driver's license and ability to drive student home vans; the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and comfort leading devotions. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided; comprehensive benefits are included.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
