Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School to care for a group of 8–13 students, providing supervision, mentorship, and daily household management. Responsibilities include administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading devotions and Chapel services, budgeting and reporting household activities, and coordinating developmentally appropriate recreational and educational activities. Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years, be age 27 or older, and submit individual applications. The role includes relocation to Hershey, PA with provided housing and benefits. Transition to a Placed Houseparent role is possible, continuing to live and work with the same students in their home. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive health benefits, retirement plans, paid time off, relocation assistance, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Two-person role for couples to apply individually
- Relocation to Hershey, PA required
