Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to supervise and support 8–13 students, providing care, guidance, supervision, supervision of routines, medications administration, transportation to activities, and leadership of daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. They plan and participate in development and recreational activities, oversee household routines and budgeting, and report on household activities. The role begins with a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule and transitions into a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Relocation is provided with on-campus housing and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading devotions and chapel services
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
