Job Summary
Flex Houseparents are a two-person, married-couple, full-time on-campus role caring for 8–13 students in a home-like setting. They provide daily supervision, mentorship, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, and transition from nine consecutive days on duty with three days off to a Placed Houseparent living with the same student group. Requires on-campus residence, relocation assistance, and a commitment to student development and a faith-based, drug- and alcohol-free environment. The position also requires a valid U.S. driver’s license, the ability to become certified to drive student home vans, lifting up to 50 lbs, and prior experience working or volunteering with youth.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-model for students
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
