Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent role for Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, supervision, and guidance for a group of approximately 8–13 students, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan developmental/recreational activities, lead daily devotions, and oversee budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; later transitions to a placed houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person and relocation assistance with comprehensive health and retirement benefits. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a two-person married-couple arrangement with both spouses applying individually.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Care leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Relocation to Hershey, PA with on-campus housing included
