Job Summary
Milton Hershey School is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents who reside in on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA, supervising and mentoring a group of approximately 8–13 students, managing daily routines and activities, administering medications, transporting students to activities, leading devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with a future transition to a placed houseparent living in the same student home. The position includes relocation to Hershey, PA, comprehensive benefits, paid relocation assistance, and opportunities to support students’ academic, emotional, and social development through a structured, family-like environment for two spouses who are legally married for at least two years and both age 27 or older.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-year married status for couples
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in home
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-model behavior for students
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA and reside in on-campus homes
