Job Summary
Milton Hershey School is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and budgeting/household reporting. The role starts with a nine-on, three-off schedule and may transition to a placed houseparent living and working with the same group. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided, with comprehensive benefits. The compensation per person is $46,917 annually (approx. $180,000 total per couple). Location options include Hershey, PA and Glen Rose, TX, US; both entries are in-person positions on campus. Must be legally married for at least two years, age 27+, and meet other youth-focused qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
