Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on Milton Hershey School campus in Coventry Lake, CT, supervising and mentoring a group of approximately 8–13 students in a family-like environment. Responsibilities include daily supervision, medication administration, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, with a nine-days-on/three-days-off schedule before transitioning to a placed houseparent role with the same student group. Requires a high school diploma or GED, two-year married couple pairing, both spouses aged 27+, valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to become certified to drive student home vans, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. Relocation assistance provided; benefits include comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement options, PTO, and training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- This is a two-person role for couples; both spouses must complete individual employment applications
