Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents on Milton Hershey School’s campus: married couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person of $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple with housing, meals, utilities, and more), comprehensive health/dental/vision coverage, retirement options, paid time off, relocation assistance, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working with youth
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Prohibited alcohol on duty on campus
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus constraints
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Relocation assistance provided
- Full-time on-campus housing and meals provided
