Job Summary
Two-person, married-couple Full-time Flex Houseparents live in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, supervising and guiding groups of ~8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from nine days on / three days off to a placed houseparent with a stable student home. Candidates must be a legally married couple for at least two years, both spouses aged 27+, hold a high school diploma or GED, have a valid U.S. driver’s license, be able to lift 50 lbs, and commit to a smoke- and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty; pet policy restrictions apply. Both spouses must complete individual employment applications for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
