Job Summary
Full-time on-campus Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School provide a family-like living environment for 8–13 students, offering daily supervision, mentorship, medication administration, transportation to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role is a two-person, legally married couple position living in student homes with a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, and a pathway to transition into a placed houseparent living arrangement with the same group of students. Relocation assistance is provided, and the position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license (with ability to become certified to drive student vans), the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; applicants must be at least 27 years old per spouse and be married for at least two years.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for married couples
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- No alcohol on duty
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
