Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) live in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, supervising 8–13 students, guiding academics, behavior, and wellness, and planning daily devotions, activities, and community life. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, leading devotions and chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role. Requires high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a legally married couple (at least two years) aged 27 or older. Relocation assistance is provided; position is full-time with a schedule of nine days on duty followed by three off, with potential relocation to Hershey, PA and on-campus housing included.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role model for students
- Completion of individual employment applications by both spouses
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Relocation to Hershey, PA with on-campus housing
