Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) reside on campus in a student home at Milton Hershey School, providing daily supervision, mentorship, care, and supervision for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include managing routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and coordinating household budgeting/reporting. Initially nine days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a stable on-site home. Comprehensive benefits include health coverage, retirement options, paid time off, relocation assistance, and paid training. Both spouses must apply individually; candidates must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses aged 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and able to lift 50 lbs. Location is Lake City, FL with on-campus housing and relocation to Hershey, PA as part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally married for at least two years (two-person role)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Ability to drive student vans
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Prior experience with youth recommended
