Job Summary
Two-person married-couple Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on-campus in student homes to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, coordinate household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, and transition from a rotating nine-on/three-off schedule to a stable placement with the same student group; the role requires fostering a structured, family-like environment and involves a combination of caregiving, supervision, transportation, and program planning within a religiously-oriented school setting.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Relocation assistance provided
- Paid training provided
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role must be filled by legally married couple
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Cannot consume alcohol while on duty
- Pets limited to fish and one dog of approved breeds
