Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) reside on-campus in student homes at Milton Hershey School, supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, and guiding daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Responsibilities include budgeting and household reporting, plus providing care, guidance, and a nurturing, family-like environment that supports students’ academic, emotional, and social development. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and being legally married for at least two years (both spouses age 27+). Relocation assistance and paid training are provided, along with comprehensive benefits and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel services
