Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, mentorship, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a dedicated student home. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required; compensation per person is $46,917 annually with comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds only
