Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, and mentorship for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a Houseparent living with the same group of students in their own home. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required and benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement options, paid training, relocation assistance, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Committment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading devotions and chapel services
