Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents live on-campus in student homes at Milton Hershey School and provide care, supervision, and support for approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required. This is a two-person, married-couple role; both spouses must apply individually. Benefits include salary of $46,917 per person (approximately $180,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive insurance options, retirement savings, relocation assistance, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading students in devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism

- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
