Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside on-campus in student homes and provide care, supervision, and guidance for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off to a placed houseparent role with the same group of students. Requires high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a two-person married-couple arrangement with both spouses applying separately; candidate(s) must be 27 or older.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Location: Hershey, PA relocation; on-campus housing provided
