Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA (relocation provided). Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and care for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent living and working with the same student group. Benefits include salary of $46,917 per person (~$180,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement options, relocation assistance, and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse role requires both spouses to be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Proficiency in budgeting and household reporting
- Desire to reside on-campus in student homes for 9 on/3 off initially, transitioning to a placed houseparent role
