Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) are on-campus caregivers at Milton Hershey School, residing in student homes to supervise 8–13 students, manage daily routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, lead devotions and chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and support both in-home care and student development. The role operates on a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle with eventual placement into a same-student-home role. Requires high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license with potential van certification, ability to lift 50 lbs, and experience with youth. Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years, aged 27+, and complete individual applications. Benefits include relocation assistance, comprehensive health benefits, paid time off, and retirement options; salary is $46,917 per person (~$180,000 per couple) with on-campus housing and meals provided while on duty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models
