Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside on-campus in student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentoring, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-on/three-off schedule and may transition to a placed houseparent in a stable student home. Relocation assistance is provided, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability options, retirement savings, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for legally married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
