Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School to reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Couples work as a two-person team, initially covering multiple homes with a nine-on/three-off schedule, then transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with the same group of students. Responsibilities include supervision, mentorship, medication administration, transporting students to activities, planning and leading developmental/recreational activities, daily devotions, Chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting. Relocation to Hershey, PA is provided, along with housing, meals, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and paid training. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus. Both spouses must complete individual applications for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
