Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents live in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, supervising 8–13 students and providing care, guidance, supervision, and development support. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine days on / three days off to a placed houseparent role with a consistent student home. Relocation to Hershey, PA is provided; benefits include salary per person, comprehensive health coverage, retirement options, relocation assistance, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel services
