Job Summary
Full-time, two-person Flex Houseparent team living in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, supervising and guiding a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications and ensuring student wellness, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and eventually transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with a consistent student-home assignment. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license with the ability to become certified to drive student vans, ability to lift 50 lbs, experience with youth, and willingness to relocate to the institution’s housing in Culloden, GA. Salary is $46,917 per person (approx. $180,000 per couple) plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance; on-site housing and meals are included. This position is two-person and married-couple specific, with age requirements for both spouses and a focus on safe, faith-aligned student development in a structured campus environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
