Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to supervise 8–13 students, provide mentorship and guidance, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and accompany Sunday Chapel, and oversee budgeting and reporting. The role begins as nine days on duty followed by three off, with eventual placement as a Houseparent living with the same group of students. The two-person, legally married couple must apply together, and relocation is provided. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and prior experience with youth; candidates must be 27+ years old per spouse requirements; on-campus housing and comprehensive benefits are included.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-year married status (legally married for at least two years)
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
Additional Requirements
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
