Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (married couple) to reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; opportunity to transition to Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary of $46,917 per person (about $180,000 total per couple with housing, meals, utilities, and more), comprehensive health benefits, relocation assistance, paid time off, and training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of marriage (two-person role for couples)
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Experience working with youth
- Comfort leading daily devotions and attending Chapel services
- Ability to reside on-campus in a student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years (two-person role)
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
