Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School live in on-campus student homes to supervise and support a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, and budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students in their own home. Relocation assistance is provided, and benefits include comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement options, paid time off, and on-duty housing and meals. A two-person, legally married couple will fill this role; both spouses must complete individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
