Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School: a two-person, married-couple role living in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for groups of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Initially, nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple) plus comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and housing. Requires experience with youth, a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Both spouses must complete individual applications for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; ability to be role models for students
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breed allowed
- Proselytizing prohibited during campus activities
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
