Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School: a two-person married couple will reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-on/three-off schedule, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students in their own home. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and training. Requires experience with youth, is a two-person, married-couple position, and mandates that both spouses complete individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years married (legally married for at least two years)
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to reside on-campus in student homes
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples married for at least two years
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Judeo-Christian chapels participation; proselytizing prohibited
- Relocation to Hershey, PA included
