Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School: a married couple on-campus live-in role caring for 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship and supervision of household routines. Responsibilities include administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a consistent Houseparent for a specific student home. Includes relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to contribute to students’ academic, emotional, and social development within a structured, family-like environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Chapel
- Experience working or volunteering with youth

- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
