Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person couple) live on-campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, oversee household routines, administer medications, plan and lead activities, drive students to events, and conduct daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The role progresses from initial placement with multiple student homes to a dedicated placed houseparent assignment. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a two-year-married couple couple-based application process. Includes relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training; salary per person approximately $46,917 with total couple compensation around $180,000.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
