Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents live on-campus in student homes at Milton Hershey School, supervising and supporting a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and adhering to a nine-on/three-off duty cycle with eventual placement in a single student home. Requires a two-person married-couple setup, with both spouses actively applying, full-time schedule, relocation to Hershey, PA, and benefits including health insurance, retirement options, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Two-spouse requirement for application
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
