Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on-campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and mentor a group of approximately 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, guidance, and support. They administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and actively engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, and transition into a placed houseparent role with the same student group. The role is a two-person, married-couples position with a nine-on/three-off schedule during initial placement, comprehensive benefits including relocation assistance, and requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
