Job Summary
Student Support Caregiver (Full-time Flex Houseparents) for Milton Hershey School: a two-person, married-couple role residing in on-campus student homes to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, lead daily devotions and chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and engage in developmental/recreational activities. Initially serving multiple student homes on a rotating nine-on/three-off schedule, then transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with a consistent student-home assignment. Requires youth experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, driver’s license, willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA, and commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. Includes relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and on-campus housing/meal provisions, with both spouses completing individual applications and meeting age requirements (27+). Proactive in student welfare, safety, devotions, and Chapel participation; emphasizes integrity and professionalism as role models.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA and reside on-campus
- Two-person role requires completion of individual employment applications by both spouses
- Participation in paid training and comprehensive benefits
