Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School, supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students in a family-like home. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from initial nine-days-on/three-days-off duty to a placed houseparent living with the same student group. Requires being a legally married couple for at least two years, age 27+, and a commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus with restricted alcohol; relocation assistance and paid training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-year married status with both spouses
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children residing in the student home
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
