Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, supervising and guiding ~8–13 students, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and managing household routines. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off duty cycle and may transition to a Placed Houseparent living-and-working arrangement with the same group of students. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid US driver’s license, and being legally married for at least two years with both spouses aged 27 or older. Relocation assistance is provided. Salary is $46,917 per person (approximately $180,000 total per couple with housing and benefits). Relocation, benefits, and paid training are included.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse partnership with legally married status for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- On-campus living for employed couples
- Two-person role
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Background in youth work or volunteering with youth
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA once placed
