Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents live on-campus in student homes with a group of ~8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and care. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, overseeing budgeting, and providing accurate household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent living and working with the same group of students in their own home. Requires a two-person, married-couple arrangement and relocation to the assignment location; relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Willingness to live on-campus in a student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and chapel services
- Relocation to Hershey, PA (relocation assistance provided)
