Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents (married couple) will live on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students in an on-site student home. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role starts with a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle and may transition to a Placed Houseparent position living with the same student group in their own home. Benefits include salary per person ($46,917) with total compensation around $180,000 per couple, relocation assistance, comprehensive health benefits, retirement options, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse two-year marriage requirement
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Willingness to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
Additional Requirements
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Couples must be legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet restrictions (fish and one dog of approved breeds)
