Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person, full-time) live on campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and mentor 8–13 students in a home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-on/three-off on-duty schedule and may transition to a Placed Houseparent living arrangement with the same group of students. Relocation to Hershey, PA is provided with benefits including medical/dental/vision, retirement plans, and paid training. Both spouses must apply individually for consideration; the position requires a legally married couple, with both spouses aged 27 or older, willing to reside on campus, and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse requirement (married for at least two years)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Willingness to live on campus in student homes
- Ability to lead devotions and accompany Sunday Chapel
- Ability to supervise and mentor youth
- Experience with youth preferred
- No alcohol on duty; smoke-free and weapon-free campus
